Hitomi Farrell began her writing career as a columnist for a major Japanese newspaper. Through considerable production work for film, TV, and other media in Los Angeles, and also working as a travel journalist, she gained extensive insight into storytelling, which inspired her to write books and screenplays.

She has written more than a dozen feature screenplays and three books thus far, and continues to write to this day.
